The most positive feedback we have received over the years from our guests is how the site is ideal for children of all ages, from babies to teens. It gives them real freedom to be, explore and enjoy nature. And parents can relax in knowing that the woodland is safe and fenced.
There are woodland tracks to explore, swings to find, many trees to climb and lots of materials for den making, whittling sticks, making bows and arrows etc. Not to mention the excitement of building campfires and toasting marshmallows! The woodland is their magical playground.
Another element to the woodland is that the children love to chance to spot many creatures. There are badgers, foxes, buzzards, squirrels, chickens and rabbits for a start as well as many other birds. Oh yes, the owls hooting at dusk is quite magic as well!
So while the children are busy and happy, the adults can take advantage of the hammocks and simply relax.
Here’s what some families said:
“Wonderful place with almost every single thing taken care of for us. Great location, beautiful scenery, amazing starlit skies, kids running free and not wanting to leave. Harriet claimed the rope swing outside our yurt for her very own and went on it approximately every 30 seconds! Jem loved the freedom to run around without Mum and Dad on his back. Mum and Dad loved that too! We will definitely be back.” Kevin and Jo-Anna, Harriet(8) Jem(4) Shelton Lock, Derby
“What a fantastic place! The kids have loved having so much freedom and time away from everyday luxuries i.e. TV! Cooking on an open fire has been great and we have all enjoyed the peace! We will definitely be back!” Gordon, Lucy, Connor and Aran Heath Pembridge, Staffs “
‘What a fab time’ was the comment our 13 yr old son said as we were packing up. ‘Can we come next year’ said the 8 and 10 yr old. This was all we needed to hear, as they really did not want to go camping! So many thanks from all of us, it was really fab!” Helen, Andy, Josh, Ben and Jordan Willoughby Whitnash, Leamington Spa
“Perfect. Such attention to detail. Most amazing place for children to run and hide and make friends and for parents to relax. Thank you. ps love the bath.” Alex, Colin, Dicken, Lettice Temple Gritting, Glos
“We’re staying in a yurt, in the middle of the wood. If only we could stay, if only we could. The kids have built fires and swung from tree to tree. They’ve run about in their wells playing gleefully. We’ve found a little piece of heaven, both inside the yurt and out. We’ll certainly be returning, of that, there is no doubt!” Bebe, Shash, Dominic, Oscar and Isabelle Ackworth, West Yorkshire.
